La Licenciada María Isabel Valdés Mora participó, en nombre de AROSEMENA & DIAZ, del Taller Nacional relativo al Tratado sobre el Derecho de Marcas (TLT-1994) que organizó el pasado 25 y 26 de abril la Dirección Genera
l del Registro de la Propiedad Industrial (DIGERPI) del Ministerio de Comercio e Industrias de Panamá (MICI), con la participación de especialistas de la Organización Internacional de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI). Este taller fue realizado en el marco del Día Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual celebrado el 26 de abril.
Los temas fundamentales de este taller fueron: las principales características del TLT-1994; la importancia sobre la solicitud multiclase, su división y registro; los formularios internacionales tipo; así como el sistema de registro de marcas de Panamá a la luz de los recientes cambios a la Ley de Propiedad Industrial de Panamá, consecuencia de la reciente adhesión de nuestro país al TLT-1994. También se abordaron temas sobre el Tratado de Singapur sobre el Derecho de Marcas (STLT -2006) considerado como una visión de futuro para el TLT-1994.

NATIONAL WORKSHOP RELATED TO THE TREATY ON THE LAW OF TRADEMARKS (TLT-1994)
Mrs. Maria Isabel Valdes Mora attended, on behalf of AROSEMENA & DIAZ, the National Workshop related to the Treaty on the Law of Trademarks (TLT-1994) organized past April 25 and 26 by The General Directorate of Registry of Industrial Property (DIGERPI) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries of Panama (MICI), with the participation of specialists of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This workshop was developed within the World Intellectual Property Day on April 26.
The main topics of this workshop were: the principal characteristics of the TLT-1994; the importance of the multiclass application, its division and registration; the international forms type; as well as the trademark registration system in Panama under the new changes to the Industrial Property Law as consequence of the recent adherence of our country to the TLT-1994. Other topics discussed were the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks (STLT -2006) considered as future vision for the TLT -1994.
In order to continue rendering quality trademark services to all our clients and considering the importance of present topic for the filing of trademark applications in Panama, the lawyers of our legal office are under continue updating regarding the diverse changes to our internal legislation consequence of the adherence of Panama to the TLT -1994.
